Zagreb is the capital of Croatia with a population of around 1 million including the suburbs. A vibrant capital with an excellent arts scene and the exquisite “Upper “ and “Lower” town. The city hosts a wide choice of hotels and is just a two hour drive from the resorts of the Opatija Riviera and the island of Krk for a city and coast break. The city has three times won “best Advent Festival in Europe” and December is a great time to visit for an unforgettable pre-Christmas experience.
Zagreb is a fabulous city for a short break and is just a quick flight from London on both Croatia Airlines and British Airways, who have recently increased the frequency of their flights to the city as well as Ryanair from Manchester. The city has so much to offer, from theatres, boutique shopping, strolling down quaint hidden courtyards and a booming restaurant scene. Restaurant week is an event not to be missed, taking place in March and October each year, with many establishments offering a three-course menu for just £14 per person - some places even include a glass of wine!
