1. Dan Zlatan Jelovac – Villa Adriatica, Brac

Job Title: Hotel Manager

Years worked at the hotel: 18 years

This is my second home and I and all my staff are treating guests like family. In these pandemic times, all of us at Villa Adriatica are taking extra steps to ensure top cleanliness and safety of our staff and our guests. We are preparing for the season 2021 to welcome all our new and repeat guests.

I enjoy working with all our guests, making their stay in villa Adriatica most pleasurable and always at the service to show more of the destination Croatia, all the beauty that Island Brac and the mainland has to offer. When our guests return home with memorable times, saying that they had a great time and are looking forward to coming back soon again, that is the best reward. Welome to Villa Adriatica!

2. Damir Cimic – Hotel Bozica, Sipan

Job Title: Front desk and Sales Manager

Years worked at the hotel: 4 years

I live in Dubrovnik. Being able to stay overnight occasionally in Hotel Bozica has helped me realise how it feels for our guests. The location is simply amazing: we're close to Dubrovnik, but still far enough from all those crowds. It's an oasis of peace, and I'm really lucky to be able to take advantage of it and have the occasional break from the city. We also organically grow food such as fruits and vegetables; but what really brings the building to life and makes it so special is our staff and the top-notch service they provide

Travelling to and from home in Dubrovnik to the hotel on Sipan, James Bond style, with our speedboat is definitely one of the highlights! I also really enjoy meeting people from all over the world, hearing their stories, seeing them year after year in Hotel Bozica and making them feel at home. In my time here, I've managed to achieve continuous professional growth while still being able to enjoy a friendly working environment, thanks to my boss and my colleagues. It's a great place to work!

3. Sabina Storjak Hrzic – Esplanade Hotel, Zagreb

Job Title: Senior Sales Manager Leisure and Corporate

Years worked at the hotel: 10 years

Esplanade Zagreb Hotel is a hotel with a soul! This is not just a hotel, but an institution for the past 95 years. It has a special vibe from the moment you enter it – I don't know if it's the past, the present or the future that vibrates here, but most probably is the people that work here with extreme pride. This hotel is the centre of everything important that is going on in the city, but also is the witness of many ‘regular’ life moments – from business meetings to engagements, weddings, celebrations of all sorts… When you speak with locals about this hotel, they will always refer to it as to an “old lady that oversaw the history of our city” and talk about it with great pride and respect, that is known across all countries of ex-Yugoslavia. It just came into my blood and I can't get it out…  I'm very proud to be working here along with all the other amazing people that are my colleagues!

Before working here (and this is my first and only hotel I've worked in), I thought that working in a hotel would be extremely boring, as you have only one product to sell and you keep repeating the same story over and over again. Boy, was I wrong! I used to work in a travel agency where I sold the entire world. Here, the entire world is coming to us! Not a single day is the same or boring! Okay, there are some repetitive stuff you deal with (like in any job), but there is always something new and unpredicted situations that you have to tackle. Besides all the new stuff I'm dealing with, and all the negotiations regarding pricing (which is quite dynamic too), I have gotten to meet an abundance of great people over the years working here, and that made me one of the richest people in the world! I guess that's the best bit about my job!

4. Suzaba K. Pogorelic – Plaza Marchi, Split

Job Title: Hotel Manager

Years worked at the hotel: 3

I love my hotel because of the fact that it is part of the 1,700-year-old history. Part of the hotel has the original Diocletian Palace's walls. This makes me very proud and the guests are loving it. Not too many hotels in the world have something so unique as my hotel has.

My favourite part about my job is meeting new people from all over the world, learning about their culture, custom and their habits, as well as dealing with every day normal and unusual requests.

5. Ivan Radoš – Spirito Santo, Rovinj

Job Title: Receptionist

Years worked at the hotel: 3 years

It is one of a kind, small luxury boutique hotel in our town. It manages to be modern, yet celebrates the architectural beauty of Rovinj. It is a pleasure to work in such a beautiful and intimate environment which gives me the possibility to install a closer contact with each guest.

I love welcoming and meeting our guests. To know they are leaving happy with our service is definitely the main reason I do my job.

6. Luko Piplica – Ambassador – Cruises Partner

Job Title: Sales Director

Years worked at Ambassador: I have been in this business since 1998.

Cruises are the best way to see beauty of our islands, thousand-year-old cities and their rich history, to see our lifestyle and heritage that we want to preserve for our children as a gift, just like our ancestors did to us. Cruises are a “new way of exploring Croatia” as during day you have enough time to swim and relax on your cruise holiday while in the evenings you are free to undertake your own explorations of medieval towns located on islands. And there is no packing-unpacking on this tour!!

St. Augustine (354-430) wrote that “the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”. This is true, and no matter how many times I come to cruise I re-charge my batteries again!
